Common mistakes

Things that slow applications down

Payslips must be current

Payslips must be dated within the last 3 months. Older payslips will be rejected by lenders — even if your employment hasn't changed.

Bank statements need your name

Statements must clearly show your full name, BSB, and account number. Screenshots from banking apps are often rejected — use official PDF exports.

Self-employed need 2 years

Lenders require at least 2 years of tax returns for self-employed applicants. One year is rarely accepted, even for strong income profiles.

Credit card ≠ bank statement

A credit card statement is not a bank statement. Lenders need your transactional account statements showing your income landing and regular spending.
